I created this song in 2015 and have been continually refining its structure, or lack thereof. Like many of songs, the lyrics vacillate between subjects and themes. When writing a song, I can never really tell what its about, strangely enough. To me this song is about loss, growth, assertiveness, and buoyancy of spirit. Please listen and find your own meaning, or take mine. :)

Every since the day that he passed away I've been looking been looking at things a little differently. Not so long ago I lost a friend and didn't think so soon I'd have to do it again. Now its messed up dreams in the middle of the night and clammy hands in the middle of the daytime. I'm all messed up, I don't know what to do. I guess that's why I sing to you. I'm a fool who is gonna get laughed at and I'm best off to laugh right back. I miss you so. You have my heart. You have my heart inside your head. I was raised in redneck town, I was redneck king, I wore a redneck crown. I was a pretty little fish, in a pretty little pond, but little did I know the world was a bomb. And the bomb blew up when I left that town, and turned the whole world upside down. I finally got my shit together over the years. The world wasn't so bad, it was only my fears. I'm a fool whose gonna get at, but when I'm pissed off I laugh right back. I miss you so. You have my heart inside your head.
