Lyrics

Our guns are locked and they are loaded; all the men lined in rows. Well we are taking this chance. Yes you're refusing to slow. All hesitation will be noted, so you musn't let it show. Then she says "No." You lose your breath. Your heart arrythmiates, and you think of the death of all the possibilities that just now shifted out of reach. Have you just fallen on your knees? Yes you've just fallen on your knees. I thought that unadmitted love seemed worse than unrequited love at first because this seemingly makes sense. But hearts do not abide by reason, and so winter is the season towards which I am slipping in defence. Now I am racing from her city. I refuse to say her name. As the rain fell past it's balustrades, I thought, "No one's to blame." God and your Angels are you're listenin', I don't quite know what to say I hope her city holds some happiness someday. I hope her city has some happiness someday. I ask her "Why?" "You're just my friend," she says. "and you need to stop just living in your head." "You've gotta try," she says, "to be more like an open book." But with what's written on my pages who would take a second look? I thought that unadmitted love was worse than unrequited love and so it was that I arranged events. But, reality's not easy, like mind's machinations pleasing and I wish now that I never had confessed. Now I am racing from her city. I refuse to say her name. As the rain fell past it's balustrades, I thought, "No one's to blame." God and your Angels if you're listenin', I don't quite know what to say I hope her city holds some happiness someday. I hope her city has some happiness someday. I hope the sun shines down on her city some day.
