Every Step of the Way

This is a song written about a father-daughter relationship. The mother passes away while the daughter is an infant and the father vows to be with her every step of the way. In the third verse the tables are turned and the father is in the hospital. She comforts him in saying now she'll be with him every step of the way. It's left up to the listener if he passes away or makes a recovery. Either way, it's about real life and is a touching song.
