Description
Shelf Life is about a relationship based on lust, plain and simple. It's hard to let go of something that makes you feel so good inside. Lust is fleeting, and when it's gone it leaves you feeling cold and alone. But, by letting go of something that isn't good for you, you come out on top feeling refreshed and renewed. Also, gray is one of my favorite colors and I feel it's symbolic of someone who writes about heartache often. It's recurrent theme in my clothing, writing, singing...
Lyrics
Why did my sky turn so gray? All my good intentions, they fell flat yesterday. I walked down the road of no return, Set flame to that love...and I watched it burn! What more could i do? Tangled up in this love game. I set that bird free. Now, there's no one to blame. Oh, my soul! He was the best of me! There's no way to put it delicately. His kisses never missed and our hearts were on fire. But, heartache is the price...you pay for desire! (Chorus) Full of regrets...misery and pain. I felt the lightening...now I feel the rain! Now, I take off my shoes...and I walk in the rain. It'll wash me clean...and I'll live to see another day!
