Lyrics
My Hat Written by Daryl Tsuchiyama 2004 Will it ever end, this cold and heavy rain pounding hard and steady on my back Shades of mud and gray, I listen to the thunder play, sheltered by no more than this old Hat I thank God for what he gave me, the strength to carry on this way though sometimes I wished he’d take me, then I smile up at that thunder, aw hell, I guess I’ll stay {Chorus} Though I’m tired and these old boots need mending, from all I’ve had it seems, I’ve nothing left at all Somewhere a woman needs love and a fire needs tending and my hat needs a hook on the wall. Well it took some time, and one last break to find, that healings getting harder for this heart. Whiskey and dreams are all I have it seems and it’s gettin hard to tell the two apart. {Bridge} I thank God for what he gave me, the strength to carry on this way though sometimes I wished he’d take me, then I smile up at that thunder, aw hell, I guess I’ll stay {CHORUS}
