Description
This song was inspired by a hitchhiking gentleman I met outside of Denver, Colorado whom I picked up on the way to Los Angeles. After living in Koreatown for a couple of months I could not image this Christ-like gentleman wanting anything to do with the place, or if it would even have him.
Lyrics
Moving to LA, gonna steal the silver, moving to LA, lining off the thrills, moving to LA, see the lights of fear, in the eyes of the ill. They move too and for their brother, though the air is dead with faces. People use names to move elevators to and from, better places. Moving to LA, gonna find my angel, provokin' the Devil by stompin' on stars, provokin' the Devil by stompin' on stars. Finding faith and fear and hope wrapped in coffined guitars. Seeing people at concerts sayin' lets get our. They move to and for their brother, though the air is dead with faces. People use names to move elevators to and from better places. Up top, sitting on a rooftop, Jesus in the sunlight, starin' and the Hollywood sign. Down below, floating bunches of egos, laughing like the angels as I see 'em float around they say "I think I'm well. I think I'm well. I think I'm well in the city of fallen angels." They move to and for their brother. Though the air is dead with faces, people use names to move elevators to and from.
