Surprise Makeover

I wrote this piece after watching a daytime talk show several years ago. The theme of the show was "Surprise Makeovers", and all of the guests were either battered women or prostitutes. It struck me that the hosts and producers seemed much more interested in the hairstylists and make-up artists than the women themselves.
