As I say in the song, these were some of my "late night thoughts." I don't literally mean that I had them late at night, I just mean that this is one of my "deeper" songs. It's about judgement...and how we as humans have no right to judge.
Lyrics
In the world that we live in, everybody gets judged. Everyone gets offended; nobody shows any love. We look at others and decide that they're not worthy of us. We play the role of God like we can see from above. But the truth is we can't. In fact, we never could The only thing we know is the difference from bad and good. And I'm starting to question if we really know that... Or less if we know it, and more if we really should. (Chorus x2) Can't you see, the differences between The people on the earth and the things that we believe Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to judge. The only way to unify the world is through love. What is reality? Can you show me a picture? It's what we touch, or what we feel...or some kinda mixture? And is it relative? Or is everyone's the same? And is it concrete? Or is it subject to change? And if I know a rule, that you don't seem to know And you break it do I get you, or do I let you go? Can I hold you accountable for my own beliefs? Critique you by the rules and standards of my reality? Cause that's what judgment is, and we all do it daily. There could be one or two of us who haven't...maybe. But on the whole, you know that we're all guilty. Condemning others as wrong when we ourselves are filthy. It's time to check our minds, and get them back in line, And seek to understand – all of each others' lives. And if you have a belief, then get it recognized, But don't be offended if other people close their eyes. (Chorus x2) You see what's good to me, might not seem good to you. And what seems good to you, might very well be true... Or very well be false, it's for you to decide. Just know that reality, by decision, is defined.
