Description
I wrote this song one Sunday afternoon, My wife was at church. Its about a river that I spent a lot of time at when I was growing up, the Upsalquitch River which is a tributary of the Restigouche River - A Canadian Heritage river. I spent most all my summers there Fishing, (Salmon and Trout) swimming, and driving the Boat. This is my tribute to that River. Everyone has a favorite story about some river or stream that they enjoyed when they were growing up.

The River © 2008 Joseph Pollock When I was Young I used to fish and having fun Playing Games on that big old River And When I’d get up I’d go down in my pick-up truck Sit and watch the sun go down on that river I grew up and moved far from home But I’ll never forget about... RIVER take me away Back to those days when I was young Lying in the sun Time stood still for each and everyone Nothing else mattered but being on that river And time flows but I still like to go Get away at least for a day on that river When the skys are blue there ain’t nothing anybody should do but go and run on that River Make it a day and just get away This is how it used to be on… RIVER take me away Back to those days when I was young Lying in the sun Time stood still for each and everyone Nothing else mattered but being on that river
