Starting Today is a song about moving on... even when it may not be what you want to do or it may not be that easy to do. Originally the signature lick was a banjo, but when played on a strat in that "beach boys" phase position it gave the song a Mark Knopfler kinda vibe and I took that and ran with it when cutting the song!
