Festival 2009
Lancaster has a truly phenomenal music scene for such a small city. At last count there were 31 venues that put on live music either regularly or occasionally. Twenty of these are within easy walking distance of each other in the city centre.
Lancaster is also home to a sizable number of acts of world class calibre of all ages and all genres.
This year we aim to build on last year's event and put each act in the festival at least twice, partner each show with one local and one national or international act and have at least ten venues putting on live music throughout the festival.
This event is organised through a partnership with Lancaster based international booking agency, CME Artist Services and Bands in Lancaster.
There is an application fee to apply (all major credit cards accepted). This is because the festival is self-financing so any monies collected from band applications will go straight back into band hospitality and remuneration (£100 to £200 per act per show depending on whether act is solo/duo or band). We have slots for ten non-local acts each of which will perform a one hour set at two venues during the festival as well as a chance to play the main stage event on the Saturday night.
