Lo Kloza is an up and coming pop artist from the Jersey Shore whose powerful voice and moving lyrics generate a following wherever she plays. Lo began her journey as an artist growing up in Manasquan, New Jersey. Unlike most kids her age, who played games and learned their ABCs, Lo aspired to express herself through music. As a toddler, Lo sang along to songs by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, and as she grew older began performing daily “shows” for her family. Although she soon took to the stage with her local community theater, Lo was always drawn towards the world of mainstream music.
Inspired by her idols, Lo graduated from singing in front of the mirror to wowing the crowds at local voice recitals at the young age of 12, singing songs such as “I Will Always Love You” and “At Last.” Lo’s vocal talent and passion for music could not be denied. Throughout her teen years, Lo began to take her craft even more seriously with vocal lessons with world-renowned vocal coach Don Lawrence.
A devastating heartbreak in college led Lo to pick up the acoustic guitar to work through the overwhelming emotion. The result – “Powerless” – was pure magic, and it was only the beginning. Lo went on to write more original songs on her guitar, writing lyrics like a diary of her own heart and mind, reflecting her dreams, triumphs, losses and longings
Lo began to share her music in the public eye, gaining support from local artists in Asbury Park, NJ, who encouraged her to keep developing herself as a songwriter and to perform her personal, heartfelt songs in front of an audience. Bruce Springsteen even gave Lo a thumbs-up at a local open mic. Lo never forgot her roots and love for pop music, taking influence from newer artists such as Adele, Katy Perry, and even Lady Gaga through her catchy melodic songwriting.
Determined to write and release a collection of songs that packed the strength and depth to break out of the local music scene and head towards radio, Lo began working with the multi-talented musician and producer Michael Ghegan. Lo and Michael both realized that Lo’s songs weren’t meant to remain in an acoustic setting. They collaborated to create the infectious synth-pop melodies and rocking guitars that the songs were destined for, and together, they created her debut self-titled EP, which debuted on June 20, 2012. Lo continues to perform throughout the Jersey Shore and tri-state area as she strives to take her music to the next level. Most recently Lo has opened for Charlotte Sometimes of The Voice at The Saint and celebrated the release of her debut EP at The Downtown in Red Bank, NJ with a fully packed house. Her talent has also been recognized through nominations at the Jersey Acoustic Music Awards for Top Female Vocalist and Top New Act.
