The Nominees

Featured Artist: MeTalkPretty
Meet NYC’s hard working quartet MeTalkPretty. Female-fronted, hard-rocking and hook-heavy, MTP won Filter Magazine’s and Denny’s “Adopt-A-Band-Contest” back in March which meant that the band hosted after-parties at Denny diners along their US tour. The band is currently burning the midnight oil by splitting times between working on a new record and touring from the Mid West out to Cali.
Featured Artist: Red Directors
“It is what it is… some people like it.” Armed with such a modest description about their sound and versatile musical spread, Red Directors’ are one band who makes listeners want to dig deeper. From the ever layering light rock song “Amazing” that dupes the listener with a few false endings, to the worn and reminiscent acoustic track “Been Around,” this rocking quartet straight out of the Big Apple will have you liking “it” no matter what “it” is.
Featured Artist: The Shells
The stars in the cosmos surely aligned to form The Shells, the folk-country trio comprised of Jessica Rae Waltz, Melanie Klaja and Carrie Welling. Timing is everything for this trio, who met four years ago when each auditioned to join a three-part harmony group. The ladies will release their harmony-heavenly debut album Written Road this October.
