About We Were Lovers
We Were Lovers is an ambitious six-piece balancing energy and poise. The band’s infectious sound lures you with melodic guitar leads and intoxicating synth lines layered under beautifully strained vocals, taking you to a place where wiles and treachery meet sweetness and honesty. We Were Lovers draw influence from bands like The Cure, Blondie and The Pretenders adding a modern pop-rock appeal similar to bands such as Interpol and The Strokes.
Although still in its infancy, WWL is a collective of experienced musicians emanating from a healthy cross-section of Saskatoon's blossoming indie music scene. The band’s pedigree includes former members of touring bands, From Chimpan-A to Chimpan-Z, Surface, AON and Autopilot, which have ventured across Canada as far as New York and frequented festivals such as North By Northeast and Canadian Music Week.
We Were Lovers create music from the heart that will charm you, making your heart swell and your body move. They are currently recording songs for their upcoming album to be unveiled on record and on stages across North America in early 2008.
