About Traci Root

Portrait of Traci Root
Driving vocals, energetic stage presence and an ability to tailor her sets to a wide variety of audiences have caused this young artist to be received by audiences and venues alike. Her R&B Fusion style, which incorporates jazz, soul, hiphop and acoustic pop/rock influences has found a cross-genre, cross-generational and multi-ethnic audience to call home. Not to mention she has worked with musicians who tour both nationally and internationally with known performers such as Steve Miller, Donna Summers, Roberta Flack, Johnny Winters, The Temptations and the late Luther Vandross, as well as many of the NYC jazz greats. Her style is all her own, but she can credit Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Gladyss Knight, Alicia Keys, Joss Stone, Lauryn Hill, and even Paul Simon as influences. Some have compared her to the aforementioned as well as Phoebe Snow and Norah Jones. She is a two-time ASCAPlus Award-Winning Songwriter Here’s what others are saying about her…

"In more than three decades as a music industry executive, I haven't been as excited about an emerging artist as I am about Traci Root, since I had the good fortune to find and nurture Steely Dan, Bruce Hornsby, James Ingram and the late Jim Croce. I believe her vocal prowess, outshines almost every other female artist I am hearing in the marketplace today. I liken her soon-to-be success to that of Alicia Keys. Traci Root is only several hit songs away from similar stardom."

-Eddie Lambert, President of Indie Extreme, Former Director of A&R for Motown, Founder of Film/TV Licensing for EMI/Capitol Special Markets Division

“Traci has a wonderful voice with a rich tone, working in a number of genres and influences…polished and professional…a talented artist!”
– TAXI A&R

“This young New England singer/songwriter’s deft touch lightly mixes R&B and jazz with the occasional hint of salsa and hip-hop, creating her own soulful fusion. Her vocals are soaring, earthy, airy and powerful…when she finds her groove she holds on like a tiger. You can’t NOT listen!”
-- Kevan Breitinger, MusicSuite101

“I Wanna Go To Heaven is FABULOUS!! Traci’s voice is awesome… (Greener On This Side) is a wonderful project. She should go far with her talent...”
