About Tom Bolton

Portrait of Tom Bolton
"Tom Bolton crafts folk-influenced songs with real wit and intelligence" Anna Maria Stjärnell - Luna Kafé

Tom Bolton writes "beautiful and interesting music with a melancholic flair", drawing on an eclectic brew of folk, roots and rock inspirations... hints of everything from Richie Havens, Jefferson Airplane and Nick Drake, through to David Sylvian and beyond. The result of more than thirty years of journeying into music is a solid collection of original work, first documented in the 2003 album "Acoustic Caravan"

In 2006, having played solo gigs for a number of years, he was joined onstage by Richard Grace (double-bass and harmonies).

"When I Cross the River", Tom's second album, was released November 2007. It was recorded and produced by Jeremy P Martin, with a diverse collection of musicians weaving a rich canvas of sounds around the core of vocals, acoustic guitar and acoustic double-bass.

His third album is currently underway, due for release later in 2009.

It grabs you before your intellect has a chance to kick in with its jaded analysis and sends you on a wave of daydreams. Fred Frith-styled ambient guitars meander under his simple strumming and gorgeous silky voice that recalls Robert Wyatt." Ighuaran - Music Zeitgeist
