I search to write songs that sparkle, that bring on the mystical side of being alive (a wild concept I am amazed by every morning I wake up to find that I'm still here), and that still have some edge and crunch. I've been influenced by an eclectic brew of folk, pop, roots and rock inspirations... everything from Richie Havens, Jefferson Airplane, Nick Drake, and Neil Young, through to David Sylvian and beyond.
A couple of years ago, after playing solo gigs for ages, I met some guy in a bar who said that he used to play bass... we talked, and now Richard Grace joins me onstage with his deep velvet double-bass and harmonies. We've been working our way around folk clubs, house concerts and acoustic venues in Australia, making heaps of friends and having a great time!
The new album, When I Cross the River, was finished in November 2007, and has been getting regular airplay on independent radio in Australia, Europe, Canada and USA (and picked up some nice reviews). As soon as we can, we'll be touring USA, Canada and Europe. Stay tuned!
