Hey All, so below is the usual blah blah blah about the band. I say forget that crap, listen to the tunes, watch the vids and let me know so I can swing by and check your music out.
Cheers
Dean
Thula - great music to drink and drive to.
Thula was formed when Dean Levitt came from his small farm in Southern Africa and met Glynn at a coffee shop in Brooklyn where they both worked. After years of both doing lousy jobs like mopping floors, slinging drinks and other day jobs, they decided Thula was the way out. Or at least a damn good time. They met Mat soon after at bar where Dean worked in the night and Thula kicked off. Liam, the son of an Irish pub owner joined the band after Dean heard him in Galway, Ireland.
The boys were flown out to South Africa to lock down a studio and record their album "In The Grave No Flower".
Thula's sound is something like southern california punk rock meets brit pop with a very unique twist. Agressive punk rock with strong dance grooves and a lyrical awareness sets Thula far apart. Often appearing with their punk rock ballerinas - all top professionals drawn from the Lincoln Center and Broadway - Thula is a force on stage!
A strong current of social consciousness runs through the band due in part to Dean being South African and having witnessed the ravages of HIV/Aids first hand. Many gigs are played to benefit ORT South Africa's awareness programs.
Thula is moving to Minneapolis midsummer for 8 months to perform for our midwest fans. Hope to see you all there!
Instrumentation
Dean Levitt - Vocals, Guitar

The "Go Getter EP" is available on iTunes. "Someday" recently aired on radio and "Forbidden" is the best selling song off the EP. "Forbidden" is awaiting a DJ to create a Club Mix to coinside with it's upcoming release in October.
