The INFORMATI started as the musical collaboration between a young progressive composer and a postmodern, experimental guitarist. Their first release, a self-produced concept album designed around a traditional requiem, is a startlingly mature example of 2 musicians far beyond their time. By fusing together classical elements and language with modern styles and instruments, Mark Inman and TS Ryan (vocals and guitar respectively) defied genre and left a lasting impression on the contemporary landscape of music.
Heavily inspired by European acts Radiohead and Sigur Ros, Mark and TS sought out a studio that housed the proper tools necessary to make such a competitive, dynamic record. The recordings took place at Boston’s Sanctum Sound, where The studio’s owner, Steve Catizone personally took on their project and served as both engineer and producer, bringing to life the arrangements mark and TS had scored over the last year. Guest appearances on Requiem also include Guitar from Caspian’s Phillip Jamieson, drums from Seneca’s Brad Caetano, and bass from Constant's, Ben Fowlie,
Currently, The INFORMATI are a 5-piece ensemble featuring a DJ and visuals, focused on taking their project abroad. In addition to searching for an international label to partner with, they can be found working on a 2nd edition of Requiem, featuring remixes from local area DJ’s in collaboration with the Good Life (boston). The INFORMATI are also proud to be part of an upcoming music compilation benefiting Spare Change News and the Homelessness empowerment Project. Both releases are due out later this year.
