Music for the Apocalypse, or to prevent it.
After the successes of the summer, the EP release, the festivals, competitions, and New York road trips, Televandals has now returned to the studio to record our first full-length album.
The inspiration behind Televandals was to create music that forces you to think, touches your soul and makes you want to dance like hell. In an industry of soulless pop and cliché genres, no idea is too radical and no sound is off limits. Though we’ve been inspired by everything from old school punk to synth-driven electronic dance music to 80s British dark-wave, we aspire to an epic, edgy, hypnotic and apocalyptic sound that transcends the stigmas of genre. Along with that, our music incorporates a social insurgency with politically charged lyrics that confront societal inequities and demand that listeners think for themselves.
To date, Televandals have shared the stage with such acclaimed acts as Medicated Kisses, BM Linx, The Campaign for Real Time, and Stella by Starlight. Our music has been licensed by Bunim Murray Productions, professional theatres in New York and several independent films. We will be touring the the Eastern US with the UK bands Killaflaw and Yo! Majesty in late spring and are also laying the groundwork for our first appearances on the West Coast.
In the end, we want to make you believe you can rise above disillusionment and despair to truly make a difference with your life. And if you feel a sense of grandeur, hope, inspiration, or even immortality when you hear our music or see us live, then we have succeeded. This is music for the apocalypse, or to prevent it. We are Televandals.
