Ken Dionne and STONECROSS
Raised up on a prairie farm in southern Alberta my country roots run deep. As a youngster Johnny Cash was my idol, and I aspired to ride the rodeo like my father before me. I picked up my first guitar around the age of 14 and it was about that same time that my Grandma (bless her soul) bought me a Nazareth's Greatest Hits album thinking they were a christian band... I never looked back. Bands such as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, Uriah Heep etc, etc, were soon to follow. So although I consider myself a rocker, my writing styles vary and include folk, blues and country. I guess you could say I'm just a Rock n Roll cowboy. When I'm not working on the STONECROSS project, I perform a one man classic rock tribute show called THE ROCK MACHINE. All STONECROSS material was written (except the covers of course), and recorded myself in my humble home studio in Picture Butte, Alberta, Canada.
