Formed in 2006, guitarist Dana Evaro met vocalist Chris Adams and started writing immediately. Soon after guitarist vet Josh Cother (formally of Drop from Colorado) joined the group. Terry Justice (formally of Somber) joined on bass and soon after, the band found Tyler Hoekstra to finish out the sound.

In May of 2008 Soundstill entered Cathouse Studios in Sioux Falls, SD to record their first 5 song EP titled, "Waiting Through". Recorded mixed and mastered by Mike Dresch who has produced and been involved with bands such as Nodes Of Ranvier, The Spill Canvas and Sons of Poseiden. Mike has also shared studio projects David Huff (Giant, producer), Bryan Carlstrom (Alice In Chains, Rob Zombie, Anthrax, Offspring), Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle) and Brad Smith of (Blind Melon).

Since forming in 2006, Soundstill approach to writing music is rooted in trying to be innovative in arrangements and staying on either side of the definable. Primarily influenced by todays hard rock and metal such as the Deftones, Alice in Chains, System of A Down, and many others, you¹ll hear a hint of yesterdays influence every now and then. "Our first 5 song EP titled Waiting Through is the beginning of a larger concept idea we¹re working on".
