My influences are those that actually have sparks of creativity and soulfullness...not just using a formula to create the same song over and over again. People like Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix, David Byrne and Miles Davis, Bob Marley and David Bowie. Bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, The Sex Pistols, The Meters, Pearl Jam, RATM, RHCP, The Who, The Arcade Fire, Of Montreal and so on and so forth.

Music allows people to say the things that don't make for polite conversation. It's a great way to just let loose and groove WITH life rather than try to fight the vibrations we encounter every day.

When I was about 12 years old, I heard Jimi Hendrix for the first time and was absolutely blown away. The fact that music could be so emotionally charged and so far from the formulated pop songs that saturate the radiowaves was more than enough to spark my interest in making my own music. I feel that his purpose was something so much more than to be the greatest rock guitarist ever...He stole fire from the gods and shared it with us mortals and I will be forever thankful for that.
