About Quinn
Quinn Strassel
Quinn Strassel hails from Ypsilanti, Michigan; birthplace of the Tucker automobile, Dominos Pizza, and Iggy Pop.
He studied Theatre at the University of Michigan and moved to New York City, where he taught drama and music appreciation at a Brooklyn public high school, while moonlighting as a performer and songwriter. After recording lo-fi indie ballads in his apartment, he started an after-school rock club where students brought guitars and rocked out. He also directed the school's plays, including a hip-hop adaptation of Oedipus Rex.
He moved to Massachusetts after receiving the prestigious Dennis Kauff Memorial fellowship to study Broadcast Journalism at Boston University. After graduating with a Master's Degree, he auditioned for OurStage.com after reading a post calling for someone with "performance/journalism experience and an interest in indie music."
The rest is history.
Since joining OurStage, Quinn has traveled the country, interviewing up-and-coming acts from the site, and more established artists like Lupe Fiasco, Tapes 'n Tapes, Blonde Redhead, Will Arnett, Rhymefest, and St. Vincent. He's attended and covered numerous festivals, including South By Southwest, Noise Pop, Bonnaroo, 10,000 Lakes, Lollapalooza, and Bumbershoot.
Favorite all-time artists include Beck, Pixies, Pavement, The Breeders, Guided By Voices, The Roots, Belle & Sebastian, Elliott Smith, Portishead, and Yo La Tengo. Favorite movies include Ghostbusters, Rushmore, Goonies, Harold and Maude, and R. Kelly’s Trapped in the Closet.
Quinn dedicates his work to all the hardworking emerging and independent artists who devote their lives to creating music, film, and art.

Thanks for the kind words, and also for adding us. If you (or anyone else from Our Stage) plan on being at NXNE this year, please stop by and say hello. This is a great site. Only wish we'd found it sooner!

Sucks that it's closed now.
Oh & even if it wasn't named after you I'm sure they still love you. Maybe you should call them once in a while. Just sayin'...
Actually they told me to tell you that.
I'm writing to request my blog posts for The Honors songs, 'Tanks Made of Orchids' and 'Fantasy is Easy.' We'd love to get some words written about our material.
As a matter of fact, we've actually met before (Quinn and Alyssa). I also play drums in 'The Press Project,' and you interviewed us at the Paradise Rock Club show in Boston opening for Soulive. I'm the dude with the long hair holding down the beats. Roland Nicol, The Press Project's bass player, is also in The Honors.
Perhaps you can write about our cross-over success in the Ourstage polls? We love Ourstage and heavily promote it's usage to our fans (both Honors and Press alike), of which we (The Honors) gained 75 new fan club members this week alone! We've got new tunes and photographs to be posted soon. Keep checking our profile for updates. Talk with you soon! Peace.
