Biography

Myles was born Jose Diaz twenty three years ago, a Mexican native that was raised in a deprived community in Los Angeles, CA. At the young age of 6, Myles’s mother brought him and his sister into the states in attempt to provide a better lifestyle. As an adolescent Myles was surrounded by drugs, poverty, violence and experienced the struggle to survive. Anything that a regular kid would ask his parents for during birthdays and holidays, Myles had to get it himself. At only 11 years old, he was already working at a local grocery store, getting paid under the table. He realized that if he wanted something he had to get it himself, with no one to depend on. At 14 years old, Myles’s mother decided she wanted a better environment for her children and moved to La Puente, a city 15 miles east of Los Angeles.

Realizing that the struggle was the same in both cities, he decided to make a better living for himself. He stayed active in school by playing sports. Basketball was his passion and he stuck to it during his four years of high school. During that time, he started hanging out with people that influenced him in a negative way. Being exposed to stealing cars, clothes and selling drugs on a regular basis. He didn’t want to work a regular 9-5 job, so he started selling drugs out of his own house. After 2 years he realized that he didn’t want to live that lifestyle. He stopped selling drugs and started focusing on writing poetry and turned it into hip hop music.

Noticing that he had a special talent in creating lyrics he invested all the money he had saved and bought himself all the music equipment he needed to record himself. Realizing he knew he couldn’t do it on his own he started working with a few music producers. With their help they turned his lyrics into great music. After he recorded his first song, he realized that this is what he wanted to do for the rest of his life, he found his real passion.

With the help of Myspace, Myles was quickly exposed to thousands of people world wide. Getting positive feedback, he was determined to make it in this music industry. Knowing that he had the talent to get signed to a big record label he started working on his demo. The rest is yet to be determined, only God knows what will happen to this up and coming artist, MYLES.
