funky, fresh, jammy rock outta Chicago.
Described as an amalgamation of Sublime, Nirvana, Phish, and 311, Mind's Hideaway is a self-styled "Alterna-Jam" rock group composed of five members from the west suburbs of Chicago: Adam Boulton on drums, Graham Bridgman on vocals/guitar, Eric "Heff" Heffernan on guitar, Nick Bajzek on bass, and Joe Day on Keys.
The band first came together with former bassist Bryan Knysch. The first incarnation of the band grew up in the same neighborhood with each other and went to the same high school. While all were active with music and knew each other throughout their lives, they never played together until the summer of 2002. Though Bryan left the band to pursue other interests in the spring of 2005, the band picked up bassist Nick Bajzek and has continued jamming, creating, rehearsing and performing their unique blend of alternative, punk, and jam-style rock n'roll. Alaskan Native Joe Day was added to the line-up in 2007, providing a rich texture to an already explosive musical genre.
Recently the band has teamed up with producer Alex McIntyre on their latest effort, a 5-song EP entitled "Free Money." Along the way the band has also tweaked and added to their already expansive catalog, including four brand-new jams.
