Returning the hearts of the children to their fathers
Hello, I'm a songwriter, a musician, a producer, a music teacher and I work with different singers, musicians, songwriters and bands in my recording studio.
I played professionally for years in Cincinnati, Boston, New York City and Miami. I've been a Praise and Worship leader for the last 12 years, as well as playing with my christian rock bands.
Through the years I've worked with many famous and great musicians and most recently I was a founding member of the Nashville band DIFFERENCE UNITED see www.differenceunited.com
My own band, MICHAEL CORNETT AND THE ELIJAH PROJECT U.S.A. is made up of a pool of excellent musicians who help me when their scheduals permit. We do most of our Evangelical Ministry in prisons, drug rehab centers, tent & camp meetings, church revivals and various other kinds of events. Often I go out by myself when there's not enough time to coordinate any musicians to help me.
I live in Ellijay, Georgia, about 100 miles north of Atlanta on my beautiful horse ranch in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Our home is a big old converted barn right next door to the horse stables. My recording studio takes up the middle floor of the building, and my wife Janie and I live in the old hay loft upstairs. This is where we've raised eight children together, four of hers and four of mine. Now we have 13 grandchildren ranging in ages from 6 months old to nineteen years old. God has richly blessed our life together and since much has been given to me, I try and give back as much as I can by encouraging and mentoring up and coming artists.

Song Promoting
I’ve been watching the battles for several months now and I’ve come to conclude that our placing in the finals is a reflection of our promotional talents and not necessarily the merits of our songwriting abilities. It should be that songwriters vote for the songs that they feel are the best songs and deserve to win. What I’ve noticed is that doesn’t necessarily happen. Really good songs have been top 10 and then drifted off into never-never land because votes are pouring in for average songs trying to place, with lots of friends helping to vote them in.
Such is a battle for songs being heard and voted for. My personal feeling is that the best songs should win because everyone honestly votes for the better songs.

thank you for keeping me up-dated, I like your recent songs "Theres a Name" & "Holy Spirit" , I agree about good songs reaching top ten, and then going into never, never land. best wishes and G-d bless, in all you all you do for Him.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for the encouraging and prophetic words you spoke to me. It is such a blessing to get a confirmation that you are doing the right thing. We have been pressing forward to get this first CD released because we believe it will be a major launch into opening new doors to allow us to minister. In the meantime, if you know of any churches who are looking to bring in spoken word artists, then feel free to refer them to me. Also if you don't mind, I'm going to talk to my church about bringing you here. Your music is so anointed, as is your voice. Maybe you could send me a copy of your EPK or press kit. You can email it to robsells@comcast.net or send it to P.O. Box 11882 Merrillville, IN 46410 if it's a hard copy. I pray we will keep in touch regardless of what happens.
God bless you Michael,

I agree with your comments in your blog re Song Promoting. It is sad when mediocre material appears above truly talented artists. Still, I have found that many people on here have recieved acknowledgement of their talents even though they are not top of the channel. So I suppose the real listeners will realise that a lot of what reaches the top is engineered and a lot of the real talent lies beneath so to speak!
Best wishes from Scotland
