About mentalescape
mentalEscape is a dark and aggressive electronica project that combines elements of industrial-ebm, abstract big beat and progressive trance. The unique style of mentalEscape combines hard and sparse double layered beats, gritty bass lines, atonal melodic synths and horror film influenced soundscapes. The showcase of variety of styles cannot be defined in one genre as the songs range from big beat-industrial to down tempo abstract trip-hop. An early 2000 review from LISTEN.Com stated that mentalEscape, "convolutes melodic grooves with a metallic industrial appeal and a hardcore affinity. Throbbing beats and breaks immersed in a mass of chemical confusion hit hard and fast. Robert Miles, outside of a Nine Inch Nails show." More recently, e-Radio described the sound of mentalEscape as a product of hybrid elements spawned by intensity of The Prodigy's/Combichrist beat structure and atmospheric/glitch elements of Aphex Twin and Nine Inch Nails.
mentalEscape scored an indie crime/comedy film Duality by Door Eleven Productions in 2006 and is currently working on the score for the studios upcoming psych-horror film currently titled as 'Darkness'.

Distortion on the beats gives it that hardcore kinda of feel. It has tons of variety's of melodies, which I liked most about it. The pic freaked me out a little though..lol..but the track pack's loads of energy which makes up for everything, I'm loving it.

Just listened to your 'Mentalescape' and love it.
Though, admittedly, the mastering of the number
isn't as good as it deserves. I wish you all
success possible.
