Mental Afro is a band that moves the soul through the power of the mind. They draw on that inspirational tenant to create sounds and performances that tend to invigorate the auditory sense. The terms ‘heavy funk’ , ‘rockin jams’, ‘reggae hiphop’ have all been used by various listeners which, taken together, simply illustrates the all inclusive style of the band. Mental Afro is currently performing in the Midwest region of the United States to various audiences that find the ability to resist dancing during their shows a challenge.
