Italian-Canadian Marco D'Amico is a remarkable self taught guitarist and singer songwriter whose melodic style embraces the romance of a song that we all yearn to connect with. His engaging demeanor belies a passion rivaled only by his vocal and musical talents. Marco’s profile extends from Canada to Japan, where his debut CD, “Something About You” was released on the JVC Victor label. The first radio release reached # 1 in Nagoya, Japan’s 4th largest city. The song held on in the top 10 position for 6 weeks in 2005 and appeared on more then a dozen other charts. In Canada, the CD was distributed through Chapters / Indigo and promoted by live, in store performances.

“Something About You” was independently released on Marco’s own label, RaspberryMusic. It is the natural culmination of a performing career that this Toronto based musician started early on in life. Marco is the middle child of three to a painter father and child-minding Mother. He grew up in the Italian community of Woodbridge, just north of Toronto. As a nine-year old Marco slipped a couple of dollars out of his mother's wallet to purchase a tired old guitar. With half its strings broken, the instrument launched Marco's lifelong affair with the guitar. He notes with a smile that not only did his mother provide the $2 to buy his first instrument, she also provided the inspiration to perform: "Singing comes from my mother and volume from my father!"

In his early teens, Marco worked at his Aunt and Uncle’s bakery earning $25 a weekend. It was from there that he formed his first band and began investing his resources into his musical career. His newfound musicianship was influenced by such talents as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora. Later on, after several years of touring as lead guitarist and co-songwriter in Toronto rock band, “Dropkick Me Jesus” (voted “band most likely to fill a venue without PR” in Eye weekly), the young musician was becoming more interested in the musical stylings of Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and instrumental guitarist Jesse Cook.

In 2000 Marco embarked on his solo career. Once he began private vocal lessons he discovered his tremendous tenor range. Marco soon created compositions that married his rich voice with his passionate guitar playing. Marco D’Amico’s early solo performances began while traveling in Italy. Subsequent appearances in Canada entailed opening for Gino Vannelli and Italy's Al Bano Carrisi. In addition to his onstage appearances, Marco composed the theme song for "The Food Guys" radio show that aired weekly for four years on Toronto’s CFRB 1010.

Marco D’Amico has currently completed the recording of his second full-length album entitled “Meant To Be.” He worked alongside producer / engineer James Paul, who has worked with Canadian international artists: Alanis Morissette, Barenaked Ladies, and Blue Rodeo.
