Magnolia Black is a five piece alternative "groove rock" band from San Diego. The band includes Rob Rivera (Vocals), Jason Redon (Guitar), Robert "Edilbop" Edilson (Guitar/Vocals), Ray Kallmeyer (Bass), Ian Moch (Gorilla). The name Magnolia Black is a reflection of the band's desire to incorporate both beauty and tragic honesty in their music.
Formed in early 2007, the band has spent the last year developing a unique style in the crowded San Diego music scene while also recording and releasing their self-produced EP "In Falling Matter". A welcome surprise came when, after only three months playing together, Magnolia Black was nominated for Best Rock Group at the San Diego Music Awards.
Currently the band is working on writing and recording songs for their next release while playing locally and touring the south west.
