Mad September was officially born in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA, on September 27, 2007, the date the band chose its name. The members began informal jam-sessions together in mid-August 2007. Mad September is: Troy Hudson (rhythm guitar, lead vocals), Ryan Gaudie (lead guitar), Tim Hallmark (bass guitar, vocals), and Cisco Romero (drums, vocals). Mad September’s music is heavy-guitar centric, alternative rock with a pop sensibility and dark-underbelly overtones. MTV's Real World Hollywood licensed their first EP and their song "One Less" was broadcast in the June 25th episode.

Tim and Cisco have known each other since February 2004 when Tim backed his employer’s truck into Cisco’s car in a local parking lot. It was not a happy introduction. Little did they know they’d be making music together over a year later in a power-punk band that changed bassists twice and never found its legs. Ryan and Troy came on board in response to an artfully scribed ad Cisco placed on the musician’s board of Craig’s List out of frustration. Ryan empathized with the pain Cisco was feeling and the two shared strikingly similar tastes in music. Troy just wanted to rock, and so, between Ryan’s and Cisco’s musical influences, he liked where this proposal was headed. All four members have extensive experience playing in other bands – Tim in a variety of rockabilly/psychobilly outfits in Seattle; Ryan with several bands (Famous Bacon) in the Northern Colorado area; Cisco in a neo-country group (Horsecreek) based in Cheyenne, WY; and finally Troy with two pop-rock groups that enjoyed moderate commercial success in the Northeast (The Roadies and Burgandy is Down). Both Troy and Ryan have solo and project work in regular rotation in a variety of MTV’s reality series’ (Real World, Road Rules, Sorority Life, etc.). Ryan’s solo project, “Gaudie,” has produced two full-length CDs.

Mad September’s inaugural 5-song EP, “She’s A Sin,” was released on March 1, 2008, less than 6 months after the band officially formed.
