The infamous "Skyline East Recording Studio"! Upstairs room of my home in Lawton, Oklahoma with my guitars, bass, electric drums and a laptop!
Richard Mack Thomas is a singer/songwriter in Lawton, Oklahoma. Rich writes and records his music from his Skyline East Studios in Lawton. He plays guitar, bass and drums as well as saxophone and the occassional harmonica and keyboard.
A lover of all genres of music, his infulences range from Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings to Whitesnake, ZZ Top, Led Zepplin, Van Halen and of course Eric Clapton just to name a few.
Rich also has written several songs with his long time friend Mike Jones who is also on ourstage. Mike and Rich grew up together in Florida where Mike taught Rich his first three chords on the guitar. The rest as they say is history...
Rich has been played on local radio and was a semi-finalist in the Colgate Country Music Showdown held in Shawnee, Oklahoma in 2005. He is also a memeber of ASCAP as a songwriter and has many of his works registered with them. Although early on Rich consentrated on country music his influences have led him to write many songs outside of that genre. Rich will be the first to tell you he is a songwriter and would rather not be labeled in a specific genre. He writes, plays and records what he feels...and as any songwriter will tell you, that can change rather quickly.
Before focusing on recording his songs, Rich served in both the Marine Corps and the Army over a 14 year period that ended in 2003 when he received a medical discharge. He continues to serve today working as a software analyst on a government contract for the U.S. Military. Rich is happily married to his beautiful wife Sara and has five children; Mack, Brianna, Stephen, Zack and D.J.
