About LUKKEY
I AM THE NEW ST.LOUIS
One word'LUKKEY'this is the word that best defines the streets of St.Louis,Missouri. LUKKEY(pronounced lucky)was born on the gritty southside streets of the STL. He was moved to Los angeles,California where he would first dicover his raw talent that made him seem different. By five he was already rhyming sentences together easily and memorising lyrics of then hit songs. At the young age of nine he found himself mezmorised by the thought of performing in front of a crowd,he recalls standing outside at lunch time and after school to flow as people would gather around. At only the immature age of only twelve this young prodigy was known all around the neighborhood streets. ''I would just walk into a crowd and start spittin,i think mainly because i wanted to get a reaction(lol)but i always got credit. ''My mom was my main support system but she always wanted me to be like a Doctor or a Lawyer or sumthin the typical parent thing''. Though as fate would have it''LUKKEY''would constantly push himself toward stardom, writing song, doing parties, and meeting people. Something was wrong to be that young and song so original was rare it was nothing like the infamous Bay Area style. Just as his buzz seemed to be growing tragedy would strike in the face of an accident. At only thirteen and a month before his birthday he recieved a phone call that would forever change his life, his mother had been killed in a tragic car accident in the islands of trinidad. Not having a Father figure his childhood was cut short in a hurry,he was moved back to St.Louis that year,it was there he would find the void. With a sound so unique he to others it then became clear where it had been originated. His style was a clash of not just the Bay Area but with the ascented slang of the Midwest. Pushing himself independently and looking to create a buzz in the STL he did just that. ''I came to the Lou on the same shit i was on in Cali only this time with more pain in my heart,i was hungry a beast ready to eat. In high school he would then meet a local beat maker named S-K(samuel kakpata) trying to find an artist, the two formed an instant bond of brotherhood. Production was not an issue for this duo who's intro album titled ''The Introduction vol.1'' would shake the Lou quickly. Only sixteen and blazing the city and county streets of his town, his name began to spread. All of a sudden people would begin calling into radio stations requesting his songs wich hadn't even been sent in. ''I started gettin rushed by people for autographed cd's,shirts, body parts whatever and it was then i knew i was doin something right''. Every chance i got i was promoting myself,i would burn cd's at S-K's crib annd pass them out at high schools and middle schools. Even with all this progress labels hadn't begun looking at him due to this city they believed was small. By now Nelly had been on the music seen for some time and the STL was getting it's recognition. Noticing all the other artist who began to come out of Missouri such as the Lunatics,Chingy and J-kwon his drive became stronger. Being a high school student he needed a better source of income than just peddling drugs and robbing. Prince Vamboi(known to the streets as 2BLE BARRELL)cousin of S-K,had recognized talent and potential right away. He began contributing strongly towards studio time and promotion knowing that LUKKEY had what it took to make it. The buzz would soon turn to silence on account of haters, one night outside his godmother's house at the age of seventeen he was shot five times by a car full of random guys he'd never met....they would later be caught. Fightin for his life in the same hospital he had been born in he would lapse into a two week comma. After coming out and noticing he could not walk he learned he was temporarily paralyzed, and sent home in a wheelchair. Feeling no different and forcing friends and family not to feel pitty for him he wrote a retaliation song called ''They dont wanna fight''but unable to walk the song would have to wait. Two long and strenuous months passed and he began to get familiar with crutches, that was all he needed to blaze the booth and spit fire. 'They dont wanna fight''was recorded and realeased to the streets where it spread first, then to the clubs!!! Snap music had become even more popular, instead of straying from it he embraced it with a twist, gangsta snap as he called it was a mix of street lyrics with a catchy beat. Re-molding the chorus's to sound one way but have different meaning proved to catch on fast with the hustler's and the dope boys who repeatedly backed his hustle. Introduced to a internet radio dj by the name of ''DJ KAIN''his style of music began to get him noticed through the internet and in city's all over. ''The movement has begun'' is the motto that this team of independent album pusher's goes by leaving the name LUKKEY as if he's famous already, and with his style and originality the streets of St.Louis have no doubt that he's coming and will defenitly be a factor. Currently working on his new album''The movement has begun''this album is sure to unleash his presence and take the rap game by suprise.
