About LostNTexas2
Hi,
I am now 65 years young, and livin’ large on the shores of lake Livingston a few miles east of Trinity, Texas.
I’m probably best described as a professional procrastinator and amateur songwriter making my music my way (saving my nickels and dimes until I can afford to make a new demo.)
All of the songs I have uploaded on this site or unpublished demos that I own all of the rights too. These songs are currently being pitched to artist and labels looking for new material.
My first experience with songwriting was in the fall of 2002. My only daughter was then assigned to an Air Assault Brigade with the 101st Airborne Division one of the units assigned to lead the invasion of Iraq.
I decided I wanted to do something special, to let her know I’d be thinking about her while she was in harms way so I decided to try writing her a song. Knowing nothing about the craft, I started hanging out at the lyric boards at “Just Plain Folks” and in a few months I had my first lyric “Fare Well My Heart”. I then found a guy in the U.K. who agreed to write the music and make me a demo for $500.00. “Fare Well My Heart” will never be cut by a major artist but it did turn out to be a really nice song and was played for awhile on the local radio and placed on a patriotic compilation CD “Salute The Spirit of America 2” by “America and Friends” an organization supporting the troops.
Since then I’ve wrote 15 or 20 songs, some turned out good and some not so good. A few of my songs were collaborations with composers at Just Plain Folks but most are my lyrics with “work for hire” music compositions and recordings.
At my age I don’t suffer with any unrealistic expectations of getting rich with my songs but I do enjoy them and hopefully others will enjoy listening. I do think a few of my songs are worthy of being pitched and I do pitch a few of them through Taxi. If I can recover the cost of making them back someday I’ll be happy and if not, well I’m happy anyway.
I hope you folks here at OurStage enjoy listening to my music as much as I enjoy listening to yours.
Thanks
Bill C.
