VOCAL CITY ENT. CO-FOUNDER AND ARTIST
Linnie 2 Tymz, born Lyndell King to West Indian parents living in Brooklyn, NY who decided they rather have a young Lyndell grow up in Long Island, NY rather then the rough streets of Brooklyn. Though he started rapping at age 10, it was at the age of 13 when he discovered a love for Hip-Hop and began writing rhymes and break dancing. Influenced by such groups as EPMD, De La Soul, Big Daddy Kane, and Rakim, Linnie 2 Tymz started going to the studio at the age of 19. With the advice of a friend, he began writing rhymes with topics instead of constantly free-styling. At the age of 23, 2 Tymz who got himself real deep into the street life, started painting vivid details in his music of what he was involved in and witnessed before eventually getting incarcerated. After he was released, he violated probation and went back to jail for eight more months. His multi-state drug operation was all but gone. He was broke. During the last jail stint, he decided to take music more seriously and realized most drug dealers he grew up watching and idolizing were all dead or doing life behind bars. After being released, he came up with the name Linnie 2 Tymz only for joking purposes but soon the name stuck. Linnie 2 Tymz performed at the Apollo and was on the-now defunct- Tommy Boy Record labels' released album “Prince Among Thieves". He moved to Atlanta, GA and became part of a battle underground movement called MC WAR. He soon became a crowd favorite but at this time he wanted more. This MC now has a growing Entertainment company called Vocal City Entertainment and is also a successful real estate investor. Everything from being hood rich, broke, homeless and finding God is incorporated in his rap style which is unpredictable.
