As a representer of Haiti and Boston (Mission Hill/______), Mike aka Konsept brings a continuation of where Hip-Hop was going in 1999. He has been writing rhymes since the age of 9 (1996) and producing for himself at 15 (2003). He usually is categorized as "Conscious" but he rather refer to himself as a realistic emcee. Going through a troubled past, Konsept has become very grim, intelligent, perceptive, and honest in his writing. Speaking on topics like racisim, social destruction of the black populus, personal depression, and science/astronomy, he is compared to the likes of Nas/Common/Talib Kweli/Mos Def/Lupe Fiasco. A very humble individual, Konsept is of 7th Day Adventist faith (a sort of chrisitian faith, with rules similar to Muslim/Islam & Jewdism), an only child to a one parent household and a graduate of West Roxbury High School (also a college student).
