Born in 1980 in the windy city of Chicago,Ill to mother Luz Rivera and father Hector Colon.Kino spent his first 8 years of his life living in Chicago,where he was a member of a marching band playing the trumpet at the age of 7.From there he had discovered a special love for music.At the age of 8 his family decided to move to Puerto rico.There he heard salsa,Spanish rap,and reggae and loved it!He started listening to Vico-C,Wiso G,El General,El gran combo de Puerto rico,Frankie Ruiz,Hector Lavoe and many more.Loving his Spanish culture he started to compose songs about his love for his island Puerto Rico.After getting well aquented with his ethnical background,at the age of 10 his family decides to move to Sacramento,Cal.This was a big change for Kino,spending the first 10 years in the east moving to the west was a story waiting to be told.
