Kayla Rummell is poised to be the next upcoming country music stars of her time. Growing up in Southern Oklahoma, Kayla combines the rich sound of country-pop with the new acoustic Christian rock. Not only does this young lady sing, but she also is known for playing the fiddle, guitar, mandolin, and banjo.
Since before she could walk, Kayla loved to sing and dance in front of anyone who would watch. The first time this little Okie sang in front of a crowd was at the young age of eight. From that moment on, Kayla knew exactly what God had wanted her to do for the rest of her life. For almost eight years Kayla has been singing professionally in the Dallas/Ft. Worth and Oklahoma City areas raking up a large following of people who want to hear her sing and play.
Kayla’s music career is on the rise. Kayla lights up the stage with her natural-born talent and beauty that shines through with a beautiful smile and a big voice. Not only is Kayla a singer, but she is also a well-known entertainer that is high in demand all over Texas and Oklahoma.
In the fall of 2005, Kayla began working on her first full-sized album with the best producer in Oklahoma, Dustin Jones. Several songs on the CD are written by Kayla herself. The rest of the songs blend a mix of classic country with an old rock style that many love.
Kayla has won many awards and has sang at many different places ranging from Texarkana to Dallas, and even as far north as Iowa. Kayla has opened up for several famous musicians such as Hank Thompson (“Honky Tonk Angels”), Little Texas (“God Bless Texas”), and The Bellamy Brothers (“Redneck Girl”) just to name a few. In 2005, 2006, and 2007, Kayla got to sing the National Anthem and be the entertainer in front of over five-thousand people at the 1st Annual Mega Bull.
Kayla has been on two different nationwide reality shows. The first was Ultimate Choice, which is a reality show for Christian teens. In October 2006, she recorded a tv show called Sounds Like Country and it was released in June '07! Many more exciting things are happening!
Just recently, Kayla came back from recording two theme songs for the show called "Real Girls, Real Life". She got to record with Jordan Mohilowski of Storyside:B in Florida! Look for the show in Spring/Summer '08. "Real Girls, Real Life" is a wonderful Christian-based reality show that takes young women and puts them in REAL LIFE situations! Check it out at http://www.realgirlsreallife.com ! Kayla attends Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, OK. She is actively still pursuing a music career. Whether it be Christian music or country music, Kayla will go as far as God lets her. God gave her a gift and she plans on using it.
