About J Rosevelt

Portrait of J Rosevelt
A legend in the making.....loved by few, hated by many, RESPECTED BY ALL.....24 Year old emcee from the Bull City (Durham, North Carolina).

My record company "So Serious Entertainment" (i.e. So Serious Enterprises) popped off in mid 2006 and of course I am the first artist. I am also the co-founder and co-ceo along with my boys Tony B and Brett B.

As of now, I have four mixtapes done. The first two "Armed and Dangerous" which was mixed and engineered by Durham producer, K Slack of Street Flava Entertainment and "The Revenge Vol. 1" which was mixed and engineered by Jaego were completed prior to my affiliation with So Serious Entertainment. My third and fourth mixtapes, "3006" which was hosted by DJ Pillzbury, and "3k7: The Verano Finale"; both were mixed and engineered by myself with additional aid from Tony B. I'm on the grind everyday. I write about three tracks a day, and record whenever possible...therefore, the music will never stop.

I make music for the love. Through heavy inspiration from artists like Jay-Z, Tupac, Nas, LL Cool J, Twista, Big Pun, Bone-Thugs, etc....as a kid, I began to freestyle and record verses on a hand held, mini-tape recorder. Now, I'm out to do it for a living. I feel as though entertainment in the form of music is one of the deepest ways to express feelings and connect with other people. I'm not out to be the best rapper. I'm not out to be the 'king' of anything, I just want to make hits that make you feel good, reach as many people as possible and have a positive impact on whoever is listening. If you see me in the streets or out at the bars/clubs don't ask me to spit a 16 for you either. I don't spit bars, I MAKE MUSIC.

I decided to set up this page to gain more access to feedback from the fans and the streets. I hope to get both love and constructive criticism from listeners because this will help me continue to change and grow for the better.

Please listen and let me know your honest opinions.

I admire and respect ANYONE in the rap game who has a hustle or grind. If you've made a plan and executed it successfully, or you're focused on makin your plan work, I can't knock your hustle because that's what real life is about; A hustle.

To all the other real artists out there, stay on your grind and don't let anybody tell you that you can't do something. Stay true and make music for the love. Most of all, stay yourself. God Bless and thanks for checking out my page.
