About JoBlac of BDU Records

Portrait of JoBlac of BDU Records
Jovan Goodwin was born April 7, 1979 in Stamford, Connecticut. The younger of two boys, Jovan get up on Stamford’s Waterside with his father and mother. Already coming from a bloodline of fame, cousin to the great Rakim-Allah, cousin to award winning songwriter J.Que and Nephew of oldies singer Floyd Thomas, even Jovan’s family anticipated he was going to capture the hearts of everyone he met. Growing up on the Waterside gave JoBlac the street knowledge and lessons that he learned from each different encounter, whether it was holding drugs for O.G’s or witnessing the murder of a childhood family friend. At the age of thirteen, Jovan and his family moved to the Westside of Stamford. He now lived on Adams Avenue and immediately sought to gain a reputation for his block, where he’s live ever since.
Jovan was an intelligent and punctual child, however due to his surrounding; he quickly adapted to the ways of the local streets and became JoBlac, the militant street soldier. At the same time, Jovan joined a Malcolm X study group while attending middle school. The more he continued growing deeper into his studies, absorbing every bit of information he could, the deeper he went into the streets of the Westside. While Jovan was getting A’s in all classes, JoBlac was gaining respect and credibility by hustling whatever he had in order to earn money. This is the same point where he began battling the demons of his conscience, hence Love, Peace and Beef. After coming up as a weed dealer who stole cars, his past finally caught up with him at the age of twenty. He was incarcerated for a six month skid bid due to a violation of his probation. Now at the age of twenty-seven and a father of two, Jovan AKA JoBlac brings his incredible life experiences and knowledge to the world for the first’s time in his long-anticipated debut album, “The Contradictions of Love, Peace and Beef.
