Jennifer started playing the piano and violin at age 5, and went on to study piano at Brigham Young University. Jennifer won the silver medal in her university’s concerto competition, performing Prokofiev’s 3rd Piano Concerto. She was also invited to perform as a concerto soloist with Salt Lake City’s Murray Symphony on the MacDowell Piano Concerto No 2. She has worked with the Seattle Symphony, participated with the Seattle Composer’s Salon at Benaroya Hall, and was a featured soloist at the Roosevelt Hotel. Jennifer performed with the Salt Lake Temple Square Concert Series for 3 years, and has also performed with various symphonies including the Oregon Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra.
Jennifer began composing music in 2004, combining the sounds of her classical training with modern new age, pop, and down-tempo/triphop beats making her a perfect example of a classical crossover. Jennifer’s debut album Key of Sea was among Kathy Parson’s "Top 20 of 2007" pick, is enjoyed on new-age/contemporary radio stations across the globe, and has captured the interest of filmmakers across the world.
Jennifer’s music was featured in 2 independent films in 2007, and will be appearing in several upcoming indie films in late 2008/early 2009. Her song "Fly Away" won 1st place in conjunction with the 2007 Swan Lake Moving Image and Music Awards in Germany, won a 1st place Channel Prize on Ourstage.com in 2008, and will be featured in the upcoming film "Reasons" by Poor Boyz Productions - one of the leading ski & snowboard filmmakers in the USA (set to be released fall of 2008). She also just recently finished a tour of the Northwest with concerts in Salt Lake City, Idaho, and Seattle that included performing with multiple Emmy Award winning artist Jace Vek and pianist/composer Michele McLaughlin.
Jennifer continues to take a temporary hiatus from performing as she and husband, Will, just welcomed their first baby in June of this year. In the meantime she is working on two new album releases. The first, a collaborative lullaby album with her award winning musician mother, Carolyn Southworth, to be released Fall of 2008. And then a 2nd solo album, "Portraits" - tentatively set to be released Fall of 2009.
Lullaby Album coming this Fall

I am excited to let you all know that my mother, Carolyn Southworth, and I are collaborating on a new album together and are planning to release it late this Fall 2008.
The album is going to be a collection of lullabies. Some old, some you know, and some that will be original works by each of us. The album is intended mainly for the use of helping babies sleep – it will be something parents can play in the cd player in the nursury to help calm. relax, and soothe..
Since the birth of my own first baby this summer, I have been interested to observe what kinds of music do and don’t appeal to him. I think I have a fairly good idea now of what is working with him. This, as well as many requests for this album, is what fueled the idea.
