COMPOSER/PRODUCER BACK IN STRIDE AGAIN FROM RUIN AND DESPAIR
(LAPLACE, LOUISIANA) - Survivor Gregory Bennett aka DJ Thumperastic is back with a BANG after surviving the devastation and aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in the late summer of 2005 in New Orleans, LA. With his new CD project entitled
‘LOVE SEXY’, multi-instrumentalist Greg displayed his resiliency and mental toughness by getting back into the swing of things and focusing on his passion for music. With the assistance of the
‘Music Rising Program’ sponsored by Music Cares, Greg was able to restart his music career and get his creative juices flowing again. On his latest project, he blended his unique sounds of electronica, urban and acid jazz flavas that created a new brand of urban contemporary dance music with funk and pop sensibilities. Greg’s musical influences includes artists like; Sly & The Family Stone, James Brown, Parliament Funkadelic, Kraftwerk, Quincy Jones, The Tom Tom Club, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, just to name a few.
‘LOVE SEXY’ digital Lp is getting great reviews from the preliminary feedback of industry insiders. Gregory’s last CD project, ‘World’s Funkiest’ did very well in ‘2006 and continues to do well in music licensing opportunities i.e. ringtones, video games and TV shows. The digital Lp version is available at itunes and other major online music stores. Greg is currently networking with indie filmmakers for upcoming DVD projects. His current movie soundtrack effort can be heard on the DVD release of the highly-anticipated film entitled ‘Cane and Abel’ distributed by Maverick Entertainment. This film has gotten rave reviews at film festivals all across America. Greg is eager to gain a more global audience and have his music placed in more music licensing opportunities
