About Ghost of Gloria
Ghost of Gloria is a 4 piece modern rock group out of South Florida that has never settled on "average", never decided to sit back and let things take their course, and never let circumstances break down their musical and familial bond. Comprised of members from other local projects like State of the Art and I Digress, the band formed in the fall of 2007 while working and writing with producer Corey Lowery (Dark New Day, Stereomud) in Atlanta. Since its inception the band has hit the South Florida local scene like a tidal wave: in just a few short months they have amassed an impressive following via virtually non-stop performing in venues all over Florida--including a live acoustic performance on Buzz 103.1 to thousands of listeners--as well as continually writing and recording new material by whatever means possible. Their singles “A Perfect Distraction” and “Daemons” are also featured on WPBZ 103.1 FM. "We make music that means something to each of us," says lead vocalist and guitarist John D'Angelo. "…and I think you can hear that in our music. I mean we disagree at times, like any band should, but that’s an important part of the musical process."
Drawing from influences such as Foo Fighters, Incubus, Sevendust, Tool, and many more, Ghost of Gloria mixes the sounds and emotions from the musical backgrounds that have shaped each member’s talent, and the life experiences that have developed their perspectives on living and existing. Bassist Mark Caldwell explains: "Everyone comes from a different place in life and even in music, but we all share common ground too. We take great pains to find the right mixture for everyone, to where everyone can listen to a song and go 'Oh hell yeah. That kicks ass.'" Ghost of Gloria live has been described as “amazing” and “pure energy and experience fused together”, but the band maintains that they just do what comes naturally. “When we play our music, we really tap into the energy that the songs make us feel, and we just hope that it gets across,” says D’Angelo. Modesty aside, the band’s rigorous rehearsal regimen and full gig calendar have refined their live performance and sound to a level comparable to national acts. Currently, the band is writing, producing and rehearsing for an album to be recorded at Bieler Bros. recording studio in the coming months while continuing to perform all over Florida. Ghost of Gloria is rock that aims to inspire and leave an impression on those who listen, live or on recording.
