DiVerse is an urban hip-hop duo that is comprised of two members, “Dezil” and “Jay Da 3rd”. Both are young aspiring lyricists and producers that specialize in the genres of “Club/Dance” music. They write, produce, record, and mix all of their music which helps ensure the unique, distinctive sound that the duo is known for. The group was established in late 2005, and has made significant advances with their music since. They have been performing increasingly throughout the Kansas City area in a variety of venues with a collection of artists known as the “Money Boys”, which is led by Kansas City’s own Xta-C. DiVerse is also well known from the extensive list of artists that they have produced for throughout the Mid-West area. The duo has also appeared on radio station 90.1FM multiple times in the last year and currently has songs in rotation at the station, along with KPRS 103.3FM. They have often been looked at as a source of a new type of music emerging from Kansas City that emphasizes less on the grimy, street environment and more on a “feel good”, up tone sound. The name “DiVerse” was created from a common idea that in order for music to be truly successful, it must break new grounds and ultimately become a sound unlike any other. DiVerse not only has the catchiness to create music that is instantly familiar, but also the depth to succeed in a competitive Hip-Hop market.
