About Damfino

Portrait of Damfino
Damfino is the musical brainchild of Justin Burchett (guitars), Michael Jolliffe (drum kit), Michael West (bass) and J.T. Bostelaar (vocals).

Their music can be described as freshly familiar – an original reminiscence of the hay day of rock-and-roll in the late 1960's when musical expression was not dictated by the corporate radio and television stations that deliver pop culture on a silver platter for the masses of the modern day world. Rather, imagination rules their songwriting process with influences that range from Charles Mingus, John McLaughlin, Cream, and Led Zeppelin to Ravi Shankar, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Motown pioneers.

Their plan is quite simple: remind the masses of the possibility and potentials of pure, unbridled musical expression in the form of funky, experimental rock-and-roll that is not dictated by the status quo of mass marketed musical mediocrity.

The convergence of the combination of personalities that composes this group and directs its musical ingenuity could be referred to as chance, destiny, or dumb luck. We didn't know what to call it, so we called it Damfino.
