I was named after Adam Cartwright on Bonanza. For the longest time I thought Adam was the young, silly one on the show--similar to me, and thus fitting that I was named after him. But then I found out that that one was Joe and that Adam was the responsible oldest one with the dark hair. This bothered me on a very profound level. From then on I've always been of the opinion that I ought to have been named Joe. Or that Joe's and Adam's names ought to have been switched. Or that I ought to have been born old and responsible with dark hair. But such is life, I guess.
