M.C.KLAY WAS BORN IN JerseyCity NJ AND RAISED IN EastOrange NJ.IT WAS THERE THAT HE FELL IN LOVE WITH HIPHOP.In his high school years he hook up with his good friend D.J.G.Q WHERE THEY FORMED Galaxy Sound ,G.Q. was the house/club D.J.and M.C.KLAY was the hiphop D.J.At this time M.C.KLAY would go back and fourth between EastOrange and JerseyCity rapping at parties around JerseyCity with his cousins crew Vega4 who were hiphop brothers with G.H.B. well known in J.C. at the time.JerseyCity is where he got his appreciation for the KoolHerk break beats.Taking this style of hiphop to EastOrange.G.Q. would spin the breakbeats,while M.C.KLAY would lay down his powerful freestyle and story telling rymes all over EastOrange.The following year he taught his cousin M.C.Heat how to write and say rymes and G.Q.& THE VICIOUS 2 WERE BORN.For the next two years the vicious 2 would be the top crew in EastOrange.M.C.KLAY wrote all songs and chose all music to be used for the shows.KLAY left GALAXY SOUND, and the Vicious2 to attend Glassboro State College.There he form a crew none as the DEVASTATING4(ICE,KEVIN L,EXACT,M.C.KLAY)they started doing shows and parties on and off campus.The D4 ALSO APPEARED ON CAMPUS RADIO STATION WGLS.G-FORCE now on the radio in AtlanticCity had a show at that time,and he would invite D4 to come on do a couple of songs,freestyle and just chill.M.C.KLAY was the song writer,and musical arcitect of the group.after a year and a half KLAY left GlassboroState and moved to JerseyCity NJ.where his hiphop style would never be the same.Klays' experiences at GlassboroStateCollege would leed him towards the black conciousness movement.This would shape his songs into the message music that they are today.His song aniillation place second in the pump it up rapp contest.The smooth yet powerful vocals with content,the hard beats and deep basslines.The mix of Jersey style rymes with concious thouht behind them.From now on he would be know as the messenger.Thought provoking lyrics with hard beats that you can vibe to.Subject matter that gives the people and alternative in hiphop.music to make a change,social,political,metaphoric. With songs like articulation,keepumGuessin,P.I.C.(prison industrial complex)the world will soon know that M.C.KLAY is the messenger.He's the producer,arranger,writer and arcitect of a hiphop style he considers his own.
