Charmaine is a Christian, single, a mother, an independent artist, and entrepreneur. Her debut entitled, “Say You Love Me” was her first solo effort since parting with Worl-A-Girl, the ‘90s dancehall girl-group with whom she first gained notoriety. An integral part of Worl-A-Girl's early success story, Charmaine substantially penned most of the group's early hits including "Jamaica Bobsled Chant", which was part of the Disney movie soundtrack for Cool Runnings.

With Worl-A-Girl, Charmaine traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean and United States as well as Japan, on Sunsplash tours. They appeared on Late Night With David Letterman, The Arsenio Hall Show, BET's, MTV and Channel 13. Charmaine has also been a guest host on WLIB radio with Bob Fredricks. The talented songstress holds a BA in English Literature, is a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society, Golden Key International Honor Society and recently obtained an MBA. Although this is a lot, Charmaine's “just do it” attitude allows her to make the time for what is important to her.

Now, DaCosta has turned in her dancehall boots and has produced a Christian CD that is to be lauded both in terms of content and quality.
