celtic soundsystem
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, the idea for celtic soundsystem came from an appreciation of varying musical genres with Composer/Frontman Martin W. Penney being the only constant member. A native of Dublin Ireland, Martins' influences range from traditional Irish music to all varieties of electronic and classical music. His sound has been referred to as an eclectic mix of smooth electronica and emotive instrumental music but without the pretense of claiming any style. After playing in bands since the age of fourteen both in Ireland and America he was rarely satisfied with the final results with the exception of playing live. Whether it was at Trinity College Dublin or an Irish pub in the Sunset district of San Francisco Martin like many performers considers the live performance the most exhilarating and freeing experience.
Martin has continued writing with the goal of breaking into theatre, television and film music. He scored San Jose City College's interpretation of "The Importance Of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde in late 2007 only to find out the show was held up until later this year due to the director suffering a serious accident two days before opening night. Martin enjoys the collaboration process and is currently working with a vocalist to bring several of his songs to life. Stay tuned.

ANOTHER GOOD MONTH
Well Folks,
With all of your invaluable help I made it into the semi’s. The last couple of days have been a roller coaster ride for my piece “Dun Aonghus” in World. It was #1 during the fist twenty four hours or so of the semi’s which led me to think that it might be spiking too early. With that said and done It finished at #5 which I can’t complain about as there were a slew of great songs in there. As I see it I’ve had two top 5’s in a row in two different categories and am just getting the feel for how to better place and promote my material on OS so bring on July. I absolutely want to thank everyone who helped me reach this achievement.
Martin
