About Bleu Lane Band

Portrait of Bleu Lane Band
Ain't Never Heard No Rockin' Like This!
Bleu Lane came together late 1999. Originally Bill Lane & His Band Of Renegades the name changed after suggestion from Steve Walsh of Kansas who helped co-produced "Back In Blue" (2000) with Lane and a studio band including Allman Brothers, Cowboy, Dickey Betts, & Tommy Talton Band sideman, Bill Stewart on drums.

From then on the band and Bill have been known as Bleu Lane. Bleu used the demo to work Music Row in Nashville with the help of casual friend and Country Icon, Mark Collie, which help get a buzz going. After 2 years of driving back and forth from Georgia Lane finally decided to check out Lowery Music Publishing located in North East Atlanta. Butch Lowery took a liking to Lane and signed him to a publishing and recording deal through in house label, Southern Tracks Records. Lowery gave Lane the funds to go to Nashville line up band members with session players and cut an album at "The Train Recording Studio" located in older group of Pullman Cars just across the Interstate from Music Row.

When Lane returned from Nashville in less than a week's time he had twelve songs that Lowery sent Lane over to the award winning record producer, recording engineer and now mastering engineer, Rodney Mills, at Master House, to master the album. Once done Lane & Lowery went to work on getting the CD released which came about May 5th, 2003.

Due to health issues Lane was not able to tour behind this CD suffering a Heart Attack on the Friday following the release. Then a degenerative Spinal Disc & Bone Disease took away his ability to walk, sit, or move without a wheelchair or metal extended length canes. Doctor's repaired this problem for the time being allowing Lane to walk again but then came a 2nd heart attack and a Bilateral Inguinal Hernia.

Healthy again Lane put the band back together with original members, Lee Coate & John Ellard. Having lost Ian Wallace to Cancer in February of 2007 the band looked for a drummer. Jeff Pallay will join up with the group at the session along with Debbie Davis, Steve Wheeler, Stephen Fredrick, Donnie Smith (Producer/Guitarist) and Jim Brown to fill in the session band. With new lead vocalist, Lee Wheeler fronting the band along with Jesse Shultz taking over for Memphis Blues Man, Jimmie Davis, the band takes on a new feel with Wheeler's and Shultz's expanded vocal range. Past it all Bleu Lane is readying for you to ROCK out at the next venue near you!
